SteelEye Expands Protection to include CentOS
Palo Alto, CA - December 4, 2007 - SteelEye Technology®, a provider of award-winning data replication, application monitoring and disaster recovery products for Linux, Windows and virtual server platforms, today announced that CentOS Linux joins Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Asianux as supported Linux operating platforms for SteelEye LifeKeeper and SteelEye Data Replication.
SteelEye Data Replication for Linux leverages open source features contributed by SteelEye into the 2.6 Linux kernel to provide both host-based volume replication and continuous data protection. An integrated compression engine along with a block-level change-only architecture reduces network bandwidth requirements and speeds replication. A built-in Data Recovery Wizard provides simple restore of critical data to any point in time. Support for multiple simultaneous targets that can span any combination of wide and local area connections provides optimal data protection.
Used by itself, SteelEye Data Replication delivers real-time backup of business-critical data. When combined with LifeKeeperâ for Linux, a variety of configurations to protect applications can be built, ranging from low-cost two node shared nothing clusters to geographically-dispersed clusters for disaster recovery protection.
