SteelEye Demonstrates Support for Novell and IBM Joint Promotion of Linux on Power

Award winning LifeKeeper for Linux unveiled on IBM OpenPower servers running SUSE LINUX at LinuxWorld Boston

LinuxWorld, Boston - February 16, 2005 SteelEye Technology Inc., an innovator in data and application availability management for Linux and Windows, today announced that it joins industry leaders IBM and Novell in efforts to drive rapid adoption of Linux on Power. To this end, SteelEye will provide its flagship LifeKeeper product set of high availability solutions on the IBM OpenPower servers running SUSE LINUX. At LinuxWorld Boston, SteelEye is demonstrating this forthcoming update to LifeKeeper for Linux and announcing the general availability of LifeKeeper for Linux on Power as of March 28, 2005, and the extension of the LifeKeeper Protected Program to include the growing number of ISVs who are porting enterprise applications to SUSE LINUX running on the Power platform.

LifeKeeper for Linux on Power provides all the capabilities and functionality which customers have come to expect from SteelEye solutions. With its support for DB2, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Sybase, LifeKeeper for Linux on Power will be ideal for environments that run mission critical database operations. As customers look to migrate to Linux, they can be assured that they get the high availability benefits of LifeKeeper for Linux on both Intel and Power platforms, and that they achieve all the benefits of having a common solution across their entire IT environment.
