SteelEye® Demonstrates Continued Leadership at Linux® World With High Availability Solutions for mySAPTM and Lotus® DominoTM on Linux

Industry-first solutions illustrate scalability and flexibility of SteelEye LifeKeeper® in bringing high availability to business-critical application, messaging and collaboration platforms.

Mountain View, Calif. - August 5, 2003 - SteelEye Technology® Inc., a leading provider of proven enterprise IT reliability solutions for business continuity, today announced that it will be demonstrating two industry-first solutions at Linux World Conference and Expo, taking place in San Francisco, CA, August 4-7, 2003 at the The Moscone Center.

At Linux World, SteelEye will be demonstrating in the HP booth the industry's first high availability solutions for mySAP and Lotus Domino running on industry-standard HP ProLiant blade servers and the Linux operating system.

In addition to the technical demonstrations, Dr. James Bottomley, a senior software architect for SteelEye and an active member of the Linux open source community, will be presenting at Linux World on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 "How High Availability Clustering Works and Who Implements What" (session S44).

"The availability of leading business applications and messaging infrastructures on Linux, such as mySAP and Lotus Domino, establishes the need for high availability clustering solutions that are capable of supporting the scope and sophistication of these applications," said Paul Adams, president and CEO of SteelEye Technology, Inc. "Our solutions for mySAP and Lotus Domino demonstrated this week at Linux World are further proof of the scalability and flexibility of SteelEye LifeKeeper and our leadership in delivering a wide range of application-centric solutions for these and many other Linux applications, databases and infrastructure technologies."

Solution Demonstrations at Linux World

The high availability cluster solution for mySAP is comprised of mySAP Business Suite, Oracle 8i, SteelEye LifeKeeper for Linux and Red Hat Enterprise, running in active/active mode on HP ProLiant BL40p and next-generation BL20p blade servers, accessing an HP StorageWorks (Modular SAN Array) msa1000 Fibre Channel shared storage system.

The high availability cluster solution for Lotus Domino is composed of four nodes, each comprising a Lotus Domino server using the Domino Partition server facility, SteelEye LifeKeeper for Linux and Red Hat 7.2 running in active/active mode on HP ProLiant BL20p blade servers, accessing an HP StorageWorks (Modular SAN Array) msa1000 Fibre Channel shared storage system.

Both demonstrations illustrate how LifeKeeper simplifies the process of creating a cluster to ensure continuous operation and protection of mySAP Business Suite and Lotus Domino on Linux, and how LifeKeeper provides comprehensive, automated monitoring and failover of all application, database and system infrastructure components, either at times of failure or during systems maintenance.
